fix(cortex): a hosted 403 or plan refusal no longer says the session expired - #298
Conversation
…expired The hosted mapping gave 401 and 403 the same head, "the session expired or the API key was rejected; re-authenticate". A host that signs out on "session expired" then logged a valid user out when memory/scopes answered 403 MEMORY_PLAN_REQUIRED (memory not in the account's plan). - A `*_PLAN_REQUIRED` code is now `Engine`, like a 402, with its own message, and `is_plan_required` tells it apart. - A plain 403 stays `Unauthorized` but says the request was refused. - Only a 401 says the session expired. - Source sync treats a plan refusal as account-wide, so a batch is not retried item by item. Resolve on main's typed InsufficientCredits: drop is_insufficient_credits, keep a plan refusal as Engine with is_plan_required, and add it to main's account-wide check in sources sync.

Opening a Memory tab on a plan that does not include memory signed the user out. memory/scopes answers 403 MEMORY_PLAN_REQUIRED, which pinned TinyMemory words as "the session expired or the API key was rejected (HTTP 403 Forbidden); re-authenticate". Both the core's is_session_expired_message and the renderer's classifyRpcError matched "session expired", so the core published SessionExpired and the renderer dispatched its own auth-expired: two sign-outs. - Neither classifier treats a [..._PLAN_REQUIRED] code or an "(HTTP 403" as an expired session. A memory 401 still signs out. - Sentry files a plan refusal as BackendUserError. - New PLAN_REQUIRED memory error code (account-wide, expected user state), read from the message's code, so it works with the pinned TinyMemory wording and with tinyhumansai/tinymemory#298. - The Memory tabs show "Memory isn't included in your plan" with an Upgrade button to billing instead of an error; 16 locales. Closes #8081
Summary
The hosted error mapping gave HTTP 401 and 403 the same message: "the session expired or the API key was rejected; re-authenticate". openhuman signs the user out on any error containing "session expired". So when
memory/scopesanswered403 MEMORY_PLAN_REQUIRED(memory not included in the account's plan), opening a Memory tab logged out a user whose session was still valid.*_PLAN_REQUIREDcode is nowError::Engine, the same class as the 402 insufficient-credits refusal, with the message "memory is not included in this account's plan". The new public helpercortex::is_plan_requireddetects it, in the same style asis_insufficient_credits.Unauthorized, but now says "the request was refused" instead of "the session expired".Related issue
Refs tinyhumansai/openhuman#8081. The host-side fix and the module bump come in a separate openhuman PR.
