docs(kanvas): guests cannot comment, resolve, or mention - #1351
Conversation
Anonymous users can read comments but cannot add, reply to, resolve, or reopen them, and cannot @mention anyone. Adding a comment opens the sign-in prompt. Layer5 Cloud also refuses comment notifications, user search, the online users list, and API token creation for a guest. Signed-off-by: Lee Calcote <lee.calcote@layer5.io>

| Kanvas does not check a permission for individual canvas edits (add, delete, clone, copy, lock, style). Roles carry keys with those names, but removing them does not prevent the edit. Designer mode allows authoring. Operator mode does not. Live cluster nodes are read-only in every mode. A user edits a design they own or one shared with them. | ||
| Anonymous users can read the comments on a design they open, but cannot add, reply to, resolve, or reopen a comment, and cannot @mention anyone. Adding a comment opens the sign-in prompt. Layer5 Cloud enforces the same boundary on its side: it refuses comment notifications, user search, the online users list, and API token creation for an anonymous session, so no one is emailed on behalf of a guest and a guest cannot look up other users. | ||

Include replies and reopening in the permission-checked exceptions.
This sentence says that only adding and resolving comments are checked. The table above also checks replies through Add comments and reopening through Resolve a comment. This contradiction can cause readers to treat replies or reopening as unrestricted. State that adding or replying to comments and resolving or reopening comments are checked.
