This PR adds one paragraph to the trust-manager "eMudhra Compromise" section. It says which Helm chart versions install a fixed default CA package.

We released trust-manager v0.26.0 today (https://github.com/cert-manager/trust-manager/releases/tag/v0.26.0). Its chart installs trust-pkg-debian-trixie:20250419-deb13u1.1 by default. The v0.25.0 chart installs trust-pkg-debian-trixie:20250419.2, which still contains emSign ECC Root CA - G3 and AAA Certificate Services. The section lists the fixed packages, but does not tell readers that their chart's default may be an affected one.

Part of cert-manager/trust-manager#1143.

How we checked the chart defaults
  • helm template oci://quay.io/jetstack/charts/trust-manager --version v0.25.0 renders quay.io/jetstack/trust-pkg-debian-trixie:20250419.2. That bundle accepts all 14 test chains from https://emudhra.we-have-a-problem.com/.
  • The v0.26.0 chart, installed on kind from charts.jetstack.io, runs quay.io/jetstack/trust-pkg-debian-trixie:20250419-deb13u1.1. A useDefaultCAs: true Bundle rejects all 14 test chains.

…ckage

- The v0.26.0 chart installs trust-pkg-debian-trixie:20250419-deb13u1.1
by default. Earlier charts install a package that still trusts the
  compromised eMudhra roots.
- Point users who cannot upgrade yet at the defaultPackageImage.tag
  override.
