What USB driver would be needed in future

On win 11 25H2 my NXT uses winusb like this:

LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT

Pybricks Beta v3.1.0-beta.5 with firmware v4.1.0b4
does not recognize the hub.

Install of v4.1.0b4 on windows works OK.

What driver should be used and how to install?

We are using the standard USB serial port interface now. So if you remove the WinUsb driver (or just remove the device) and unplug/replug USB, it should install the correct driver.

Uninstalled the Lego Device.
power-off the NXT
un/re-plug the NXT cable
power-on the NXT
Now a serial port.

We are currently using web serial also for the firmware update. Bert appears to indicate that it works?

Interesting... and the firmware update in NXT-G also works at the same time?

I guess it might if you do the firmware update while the official LEGO software is running because it doesn't actually reboot into the bootloader. It would only be broken if you pressed the hidden button to enter the samba boottloader.

After restore LEGO firmware on pybricks:

• I could connect to NXT2
• firmware update in NXT2 did connect to the hub but hang in "prepare NXT" So did not succeed.

Will retry as the previous time I did not really select the v1.31 firmware.

• beta.pybricks
• NXT power-on
• press hidden switch
• Go to restore LEGO firmware
• see

    beta.pybricks.com wants to connect to a serial port
    Bossa Program Port (COM16) - Paired

• press "install"
• ready

Device manager:

Looks like the connection is the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT.

Stopped pybricks

Connect NXT2

NXT2 connects to the hub.
Just running an empty program, so "beep"

NXT update firmware:

• connect NXT OK
• prepare NXT
  • reboots the NXT (clicking)
  • device manager does not show LEGO Device but I see: Bossa Program Port (COM16)
  • nothing seems to happen but clicking
  • un/re-plug cable does nothing. same com port.

install pybricks firmware:

As the hub was already in update mode -> pybricks
Installed pybricks firmware successful.
But now again the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT device, so no USB connection to pybricks

The old documentation explicitly shows the resulting Device Manager structure as:

LEGO Devices
    LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT

And that is what I saw.
